Barndominium & Shouse Floor Plans

Thank you for visiting my Floor plan page. I hope to help you in all the content I can offer and some sample plans.  I just started this page on my website so I'll be updating it all I can when I get new drawings done.  Now lets talk about Barndominiums & Shouse and what they are.

A Barndominium is a structure that is built with just a living quarters with no shop attached. They are most generally built using Post-Frame construction but can also be your traditional Stud-frame too. In most cases the shop is built first to put a camper in and materials while the house will be built soon after. The Barndominium won't need a shop attached at that point but doesn't mean it can't be for cars or more shop space.

The word Barndominium came from folks that would take a barn on the property and build a condominium in it so you get the word Barndominium. Now they did this for many reasons like for in-laws, family, temporally, and cost.  

A Shouse is a structure that is built with a living quarters with a huge shop attached . Again most generally these are built using the Post-Frame construction method but can also be built like a Stud-frame building too.

Shouse are built for people that want the work very close to home for ease.  Now that work isn't just one thing I have built them for mechanics, equestrian, woodworking, or offices.  Lots of people love the fact they don't have to go very far to start working and your property is more safe at night right next to you sleeping.   

Shouse word started much longer ago than we think it did, decades ago. Years ago people like Blacksmith, bakers, mechanics, farmers, and tradesmen started adding shops to there living space for safety and convenience.
